The Doom and Gloom of Trucking? I think not! The Reality of Trucking is more like it. We have to learn how to take emotion out of our business. Very tough to do I know but at least try. It promotes an objective thought process. The catalyst that sparks the trucking industry does not need to be a catastrophic event as in the past. At the most basic level, if you have consumer confidence and consumer spending, trucking is successful. The store shelves are full, the car lots are over capacity, interest rates are high and inflation is out of control. Consumers are not spending! This forces shippers to do exactly what we see today. Ship less and save as much as possible on what they do have to ship. The catalyst that creates consumer confidence and spending is not just one thing, it took many things and events to destroy them and it will take carful planning to restore them. Sorry, but there is no magic here and I don't think an alien invasion is coming any time soon.(I could be wrong) We need leaders that understand these things and have a plan to "Just Fix It!" One other note. I asked my son in law to order parts to repair his bike. After two weeks I asked where they were. He said he had not ordered them yet because he couldn't get free shipping. What? This tells us a lot about how the consumer and shipper is thinking today. Thank you so much for the reality check Miranda!

Truckers are handing money to brokers , why is it that the real rate of the fright is so secret and trucking companies don’t have the right to know the real rates!! This is fact before the shippers pay which can take from 0ne month to 2 who pays ?it’s the carriers!! They use factoring companies to pay 1 factoring agents 2 insurance, to 3 brokers 4 mechanical , 5 dealers , parts tolls truck stops , fuel companies!! There is no money left !!! We need government regulation of insurance and brokers and educate mechanics and regulations regulators are needed bad !!these guys don’t want government and claim it will mess it up but these guys are robbing the hard workers !! She has no fifth wheel filth !! 5 years 😂😂😂😂

Last week was terrible for me as a company driver flat bedding. Went from Idaho to Denver sat for 30 hours. Denver to Salt Lake sat for another 30 hours waiting for a reload. Salt Lake to Denver and now im home for the weekend. It was frustrating

I read a couple of articles that said several mega carriers stated they have reached their bottom and will not run their trucks for any less. I have only a couple points. One, mega carriers have been responsible for driving rates down for the small and single truck operations for years. Now they are reaping what they’ve sewn. Second, for the life of me I don’t understand why some think shippers are in total control of rates. They are only in a position to push rates down because the people transporting the freight allow it to happen. If the majority of trucks said no, what would happen to the freight? They could only allow it to sit for so long and it would eventually have to move. All the wiz bang AI computer algorithm rate forecasting bullsh💩 starts with the rates carriers agree to move it. Brokers consistently tell me if trucks want rates to go up, they need to stop hauling it for the rates offered. Additionally, If shippers are in complete control over rates, did they all magically agree to pay what they did a couple years ago? NOT…

What is the trigger for things to get better? simple, get this moron out of office this November!

so i will challange your argument that you’ve been through the worse in trucking for the past 5 years. basically the last 2.5 years were covid boom, only last 6 month are really bad and before that you have 2018-2019-2020 which weren’t the worse years of trucking. Yeah. Just fact checking.

I feel like this has been happening slowly over the past 3 years, and right now is not looking good. It seems to be directly tied with the economy, and who has had their grimy fingers on the economy over the past 3 years. Am I looking to hard over the fence?
